Accelera Solutions, Inc. has been awarded a contract on the Missile Defense Agency’s Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense (SHIELD) Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity vehicle. The award places Accelera on an MDA multiple-award contract carrying a $151B program ceiling and a broad scope of work areas in support of homeland and theater missile-defense capability delivery.
About MDA SHIELD
MDA SHIELD is the Missile Defense Agency’s enterprise-tier acquisition vehicle for innovative capability delivery to the warfighter. The program is structured for increased speed and agility against evolving defense needs: rapid task-order solicitation, agile delivery, and a contract holder pool chosen for the ability to deliver homeland-defense capability inside compressed mission timelines. The $151B program ceiling defines the procurement plane through which MDA reaches in to the engineering bench when capability has to land fast.
Why It Matters
For Accelera, the SHIELD award extends the organization’s federal vehicle portfolio into the missile-defense domain alongside its existing positions on GSA MAS, USDA STRATUS, NASA SEWP V, the NATO Basic Ordering Agreement, Navy SeaPort-NxG, and GSA OASIS+. For MDA stakeholders, the position means Accelera is directly accessible at the task-order tier under SHIELD without the overhead of a subcontract chain.
Contracting officers placing SHIELD task orders now have a 24-year federal IT services organization in scope, carrying CMMI-SVC Level 3 appraisal, ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification, the NAVSEA 04RP approved Quality Management System for shipboard and submarine work, and a federal customer set that spans the Navy, NIWC, DHS, CISA, the Defense Health Agency, the FBI, the Army, the United States Air Force, and NATO.
For the warfighter, what matters is throughput. The SHIELD vehicle is designed for rapid delivery, and Accelera’s task-order delivery model is built around the same discipline: scoped identity and authorization at the IAM control plane, audit trails that survive authorizing-official review, and an engineering posture that ships capability inside the authorization boundary rather than around it.
