Accelera Solutions to Help MediCorp Health System Achieve Electronic Health Records
-- Complete Virtual Access Environment Leverages Citrix & VMware Technologies --
Falls Church, VA—September 11, 2007—MediCorp Health System has selected Accelera Solutions to deploy Citrix® Presentation Server™ to their more than 1,000 concurrent local and remote users. Accelera will expand and modernize MediCorp’s Citrix MetaFrame environment, providing users with more secure and easier to use remote access for clinical applications. The user community for MediCorp consists of clinicians located at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA, as well 27 other healthcare facilities.
The complete Virtual Access environment, which will launch in mid-October, will leverage the latest Citrix Presentation Server Platinum Edition™ and VMware technologies as the core solution. This project has been driven largely by MediCorp’s need to upgrade and roll out the electronic health records (EHR) system Soarian®.
Accelera will integrate these leading edge technologies from the best in the industry:
- The new Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 Platinum Edition, a comprehensive application delivery system.
- The Citrix Access Gateway™ SSL/VPN which provides a secure single point of access to all applications while automatically customizing access policies based on each user’s access scenario.
- VMware for server virtualization to improve server resource utilization while improving server availability.
- RSA Security® for dual factor authentication.
- ScriptLogic® Desktop Authority® which enables administrators to proactively manage, secure and support desktops from a central location.

This new Citrix environment will provide access to over 1,000 concurrent local and remote users to MediCorp’s information technology resources. This solution will also provide for and support a highly robust Disaster Recovery solution and allow MediCorp to take advantage of Thin Client technologies at every opportunity.
