VMware Infrastructure Jumpstart
Leverage the experience and best practices of virtualization experts to get you started quickly and accelerate your time-to-value. The VMware Infrastructure Jumpstart provides you with an on-site proof-of-concept configuration and knowledge transfer using VMware ESX Server and VMware VirtualCenter Management Server.

VMware Infrastructure Jumpstart with Physical-to-Virtual Migrations*
Start with an on-site workshop and knowledge transfer around physical to virtual migrations using VMware ESX Server, VMware VirtualCenter Management Server, and VMware Converter. After four days, you will have a working proof of concept within your own environment.

VMware Virtualization Assessment
Learn which servers are good candidates for virtualization and see the expected return on your investment. You'll get a current inventory of your servers, their workloads, and utilization. We'll then identify opportunities for consolidation, model consolidation scenarios, and conduct a total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis of up to 200 servers. If you require an analysis of more servers or an assessment of your business continuity, change control, service levels, security or other processes, we can tailor a virtualization assessment to meet your requirements.

Citrix Strengthens Virtualization Position with Acquisitions of XenSource and Ardence

Citrix recently acquired XenSource and Ardence, boosting the company’s position in the fast-growing datacenter and desktop virtualization market. XenSource is a leader in enterprise-grade virtual infrastructure solutions. Together, Citrix and XenSource bring technical, customer, partner, channel and go-to-market synergies. Look for virtualization solutions to be easier to use and even more relevant to business.

Ardence is a leading provider of solutions that enable IT administrators to provision PCs, servers, and web services on-demand from a centrally managed source. Ardence software supports a dynamic desktop infrastructure so the operating system and applications are delivered from virtual disks on a centralized server. This move will strengthen Citrix's application delivery offering with more robust streaming and provisioning technologies, increased security and reliability, and new options for delivery of applications and desktops over the network.

The Ardence technology will also be used to complement the Citrix® NetScaler® web application delivery solutions by enabling the on-demand provisioning of web applications. The Ardence provisioning technology can also be used to more quickly add new servers to a Citrix Presentation Server™ farm.

Virtualization is a hot technology because it breaks the “hard-coded” link between hardware and software. Citrix continues to stay ahead of the pack in providing virtualization technologies, with products that provide the best performance, security and cost savings to the end user. These acquisitions allow Citrix to extend virtualization into the logic and data tier of applications, improving overall customer value and enhancing their position as the market leader in end-to-end application delivery infrastructure.

Contact Accelera for more on how virtualization solutions like these can impact your business.

Solutions Spotlight

Securities and Exchange Commission Achieves Teleworking Requirements
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) engaged Accelera Solutions to develop a solution to comply with the new Telework requirements facing the Federal workforce. These requirements are based on Public Law 106-346 which imposes monetary penalties on Federal managers who do not comply with Telework eligibility and accessibility regulations. The SEC sought a comprehensive solution to meet the requirements for all remote users including both Teleworkers and mobile workers.

These requirements focused on the ability to deliver secure, remote access to mission critical applications. The SEC project included the use of the Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server 4.0 and the Citrix Access Gateway SSL VPN appliance to provide remote access for 1,000 concurrent users. In addition to securing ICA traffic, the Citrix Access Gateway also secures internet traffic and VoIP for all of the SEC’s virtual users.
