Clinician Mobility Carts Bring Single-Sign On to Inova Loudoun Hospital
To move toward EHRs, Inova Loudoun Hospital (ILH) needed to deploy secure, Virtual Access wireless clinician mobility carts. These wireless, computer-enabled carts are wheeled into patient rooms where clinicians benefit from uninterrupted and secure access to applications and information at the point of care. By deploying Citrix Presentation Server, Accelera enabled ILH to reduce the margin for errors, improve decision making by healthcare professionals and improve clinician productivity. The carts also feature SmoothRoaming so clinicians can log onto the Citrix server at the application level, without needing multiple logins. Because applications follow the user, clinicians can resume work on a new device exactly where they left off from a previous workstation. Accelera has protected ILH’s data using standards-based encryption technologies, and complied with HIPAA for all communication.
